In Conversation at Blackwell’s Broad Street – 17th Jan

Happy New Year, my dears.  I hope those mince pies were piping hot and that mulled wine was topped up with enough brandy to make you giddy. I’m going to be at Blackwell’s Broad Street, Oxford, at 7pm on Tues 17th January to talk about The Man who Rained with the fabulous Roma Tearne.  It would be wonderful to see you there if you can make it.  This is going to be my first time talking in any depth (in public, at least) about the novel so it will be an exciting first for me. If you’d like to come, tickets are £2 a pop from Blackwell’s and all the details are here.

Lancaster litfest

Just a quick heads up to say that I’ll be reading at Lancaster Litfest on the 18th October, along with the wonderful Amy Sackville, author of The Still Point.  I actually did my first ever reading at Lancaster Litfest a few years ago, and since I pretty much learned how to write while living in Lancaster it will be a very special one for me. I hope you can make it.  Things kick off at 7:30 and all the details are here…

I’m doing a couple of events next week that it would be great to see folks at. The first is on Wednesday 28th at Reigate Library at 7:30, where I’ll be talking about The Girl with Glass Feet.  It should be a fun chance to chat about the book and enjoy a glass of wine.  All the details are here. The second event is on Thursday 29th at Blackwell’s Oxford, with fellow novelist Roma Tearne.  Roma is spending that week in residency in the book shop, and all week long she’s going to be running a polling station there.  You’ll be able to go in and vote for your favourite kinds of books: a reading general election to run alongside the political one.  On Thursday night the results will be announced and debated, and it promises to be a very exciting and lively affair.  Details are here, with more to follow.
